How To Play

POWERS takes away your W'rkncacnter-given right to bear arms in Marathon. In return, you gain two very specific POWERS. You can toggle between them by using the action key. Your POWERS exist in single-player mode, as well as in any multiplayer in which you choose to excercise them. If using them in the latter category, be sure to try co-operative mode with some friends.

  1. Pickup (starting mode)
  2. While looking at a monster (or player), you may use the primary trigger to pick that monster up. As long as you hold the trigger, the monster will move to the position where you happen to look.
While picking up a monster, you may press the key that normally cycles to the previous weapon in order to move that monster a small distance towards you.
While picking up a monster, you may press the key that normally cycles to the next weapon in order to move that monster a small distance away from you.
While picking up a monster, you may hold the secondary trigger in order to move that monster rapidly towards you or away from you, depending on the direction in which you last moved the monster.
  3. Attachment
  4. You may choose a surface (or monster, or scenery object, or landscape) to attach to in this mode by using the secondary trigger.
You may pull yourself towards the attached surface by using the primary trigger.

Hosting

If you choose to use POWERS in a multiplayer environment, I strongly recommend that you host a co-operative game. You'll find new ways to beat levels, and you'll have fun working together to do so.

  1. Place the Lua script (a file called POWERS v3.0.1.lua) somewhere you can easily access from the Aleph One interface. Do not place it in the Scripts or MML folders in your Aleph One directory.
  2. Start Aleph One.
  3. Select Gather Network Game from the main menu.
  4. Under the Game section, choose the the Cooperative Play option from the Game Type list.
  5. Under the Net Script section, check the Use Netscript box, then choose the script by navigating to it and clicking on it.
  6. Under the Duration section, choose Unlimited. Then you can play as long as you like.
